If a road trip is part of your summer plans, make sure your tires are ready before you start packing up the car. Not only is driving on tires with adequate tread much more safe for you, your passengers and others on the road around you, taking care of your tires before you leave will likely save you money and headaches if any problems arise while you’re out of town.
Typically, tire tread above 2/32 of an inch is considered to be adequate. However, some tests have shown that 4/32 is a much safer guideline to follow.
